ALERT: Jackson Township Man Sought for Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on December 30, 2020, Mr. Roberto Alcazar-Sanchez, 27, of Jackson, was charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Death in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-5.1, as well as Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Driver’s License while being involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Death in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:40-22a, relative to a crash which occurred in Jackson Township during the evening hours of December 24, 2020.

Police Investigating Fatal Jackson Township Hit-and-Run

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on December 24, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Jackson Township Police Department were summoned to the area of Cedar Swap Road and I-195 for a report of a motor vehicle crash with serious injuries.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Jackson Township Police Chief Matthew Kunz announced that Mr. Jshawn Cutler, 23, of Jackson, has been charged with murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1), in connection with the death of Isaiah Renouf, also 23, of Jackson.

Jackson Township Sued for Restrictions on Schools, Religious Housing that Targeted Orthodox Jewish Community

NEWARK, NJ – The Justice Department today announced that it filed a lawsuit against Jackson Township and the township planning board alleging they implemented zoning ordinances that intentionally restrict the operation of religious schools and housing associated with such schools, including religious boarding schools known as yeshivas, required by the Orthodox Jewish community.

Jackson Man Pleads Guilty to Maintaining a Illegal Drug Production Facility

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on February 10, 2020, Michael Canto, 41, of Jackson, pled guilty before the Honorable Michael T. Collins, J.S.C., to Maintaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-4. At the time of his sentencing on April 3, 2020, the State will be seeking a term of five years New Jersey State Prison with a two-year period of parole ineligibility.

Jackson Man Indicted for Vehicular Homicide

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Douglas Thompson, 55, of Jackson, was indicted yesterday, February 5, on charges of Vehicular Homicide, Strict Liability Vehicular Homicide, and Causing a Death While Driving with a Suspended License.

UPDATE: Lakewood Man Charged With Two Counts of Attempted Murder in Jackson Shooting

According to officials Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced today that Maleek Dorsey, 27, of Lakewood was arrested and charged with two counts of Attempted Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1a(1) and N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1); Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1); and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1).

Jackson Resident Charged with Vehicular Homicide

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Toms River Township Chief of Police Mitch Little announced today the arrest of Douglas Thompson, age 55, of Jackson, for Strict Liability Vehicular Homicide, Death by Auto and Operating a Vehicle Causing a Death While Suspended or Revoked.
