A vehicle that failed to stop for police in Mountainside ended in a crash with several people injured on Route 22 in Scotch Plains this evening.
The accident happened at the intersection of Route 22 and Glenside Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m. after police attempted to pull over a vehicle for traffic violations when the car sped off.
The car came to a crashing halt at the intersection while a civilian vehicle was also involved in the crash.
A seriously injured victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark, and two other victims were taken to Overlook Hospital in Summit.
The investigation into the crash is active and ongoing.
