Westfield Police Department today announced the arrest of four people accused of several gas station and convenience store robberies around Union County.
Yesterday, Evan Manganiello, 27, of Westfield; Matthew Bowen, 28, of Watchung; Sean Bower, 28, of Watchung; and Michael Ivancich, 23, of Berkeley Heights were arrested and charged with robbing two gas stations in Union on Sept. 11 and Sept. 22, three robberies of gas stations in Scotch Plains on Sept. 11 and 17 and the robbery of a convenience store in Westfield Sept. 12.
Manganiello, Bowen and Ivancich were also charged with a gas station robbery in Westfield on Sept. 10 and a convenience store in Mountainside on Sept. 22.
Manganiello and Bowen were also linked to a gas station robbery in Westfield on Sept. 19 and charged with the theft of a motor vehicle in Westfield on Sept. 22 which police believe was used in the robbery of a Mountainside convenience store on the same day.
All suspects were remanded to the Union County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
