A violent late night shooting that injured one person in Orange, starts our information Sunday off .
Several rounds of gunfire rang out in the 300 block of Alden Street (near Cleveland) rushing about a dozen police units to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. where responding officers located a male victim shot, multiple times.
EMS were requested to the scene on a rush where they arrived to find the male victim suffering injury from gunfire to the hip and chest area according to reports.
The man was transported to University Hospital in Newark where his injuries (as of 3:30 a.m.) were not reported to be life threatening.
Police thoroughly canvassed the area for a beige colored SUV that was occupied by a black male who fled northbound on High Street towards West Orange.
Unofficially, (More likely greater numbers, less likely lower numbers), the city of Orange has had 10 instances of gunfire, connecting (causing bodily injury) on about 9 with two of the victims fatally injured since mid June.
One of the shootings was classified as a police involved shooting back in June.
Orange is a 2.2 square mile city of more than 30,000 residents according to the city's website.
Last night's shooting is being investigated by the Orange Police Department.
