UPDATE: Pedestrian Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash in Belleville

A pedestrian was injured following a motor vehicle crash Tuesday night in Belleville, police said.

According to authorities, patrol units responded at approximately 10:41 p.m. on January 13, 2026, to a reported crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Washington Avenue and East Overlook Avenue. 

Upon arrival, officers determined the incident involved a three-vehicle collision, including a pedestrian strike and a parked vehicle.

 

The pedestrian, a 44-year-old woman from Paterson, was crossing Washington Avenue when she was struck by a motorist traveling northbound. 

The driver, a 54-year-old man from Nutley, was traveling in the right northbound lane when the vehicle struck the pedestrian and then collided with a parked car in front of 556 Washington Avenue.

 

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. 

The driver remained at the scene, and police confirmed that his driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance were all in good standing.
