Two Linden Men Charged in South Wood Avenue Shooting

Two Linden men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a woman at the Wendy’s on South Wood Avenue last month, authorities said.

Police said Jevan Carrie, 19, and Jeyrin Munoz, 18, were taken into custody separately in Linden on October 4, 2025, following a two-week investigation led by the Linden Police Detective Bureau.

 

Investigators allege the pair conspired to fire multiple rounds at a vehicle parked in the Wendy’s parking lot in the 700 block of South Wood Avenue. 

A 35-year-old Elizabeth woman was struck during the gunfire, treated at the scene, and transported to University Hospital in Newark with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

Munoz faces charges including second-degree aggravated assault, weapons possession, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.

Carrie has been charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

 

Both men were remanded to the Essex County Jail after their arrests.
