A Woodbridge man has been taken into custody and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred last month on a residential street in Linden, authorities said.

According to information released by the Linden Police Department, officers arrested 20-year-old Eddie Germain on Saturday, June 7, following a three-week investigation into a shooting incident reported on May 12 in the 500 block of Bower Street.
At the time of the incident, officers responded to reports of gunfire and recovered two shell casings at the scene.
No victims or suspects were immediately located. However, detectives from the department’s Juvenile Aid Bureau later identified Germain as the alleged shooter.
Investigators allege that Germain fired multiple rounds at an occupied vehicle as it was traveling along Bower Street.
He is now facing several charges, including second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree possession of a weapon by a person legally barred from doing so.

Germain is currently being held at the Essex County Jail and is awaiting a court appearance in Superior Court.
The investigation remains ongoing.
