Responders are reporting non-fatal injuries for a police officer shot in a section of Long Branch this evening.
Officials have not released much information on the shooting at this time.
According to preliminary reports at the scene, police were attempting to serve a warrant at an address on Chelsea Avenue just before 5:50 p.m.
Somewhere during the interaction, gunfire rang out that struck the officer reports said.
The officer was rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
Police requested SWAT the scene for the suspect who is now barricaded.
Authorities have not confirmed if the officer and suspect exchanged gunfire.
