A ‘Very Tasteful Experience’ to Celebrate 150 Years of Care and Compassion at Clara Maass Medical Center

Belleville, NJ - Official say since its founding in 1869 as Newark German Hospital, what we now know as Clara Maass Medical Center has provided welcoming care for all types of people in all kinds of circumstances.

Almost from the day it opened, the administrators and medical staff have seized opportunities to expand and to provide more advanced services to the community it serves.

To cap off a transformational year in which Clara Maass Medical Center completed numerous expansion projects and earned national recognition for the quality and safety of its care, the medical center commemorated its 150th Anniversary with ‘A Very Tasteful Experience’ on November 13th at Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville according to hospital officials.

The event was attended by Corporate leaders including Barry H. Ostrowsky, President and Chief Executive Officer and Thomas A. Biga, President-Hospital Division, RWJBarnabas Health, the Medical Center’s President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mary Ellen Clyne, Belleville Mayor Michael Melham, Good Day New York Sportscaster Tina Cervasio, as well as Board members, physicians, employees, volunteers, Auxilians, community leaders, stakeholders, friends and supporters came together to honor the Medical Center’s longstanding legacy as a valuable healthcare resource for the community now and for many years to come.

The event featured food from the area’s top restaurants, and entertainment for the evening was provided by the Hudson Horns, a collection of talented, creative musicians that comprise an ensemble of talent that has collaborated with musical artists such as Rihanna, Solange, Ricky Martin, and the legendary Johnny O’Neal.
