UPDATE: Search Continues for Suspects Wanted for Newark Clinton Place Shooting

Police in Newark are investigating a shooting incident that injured a male in the city's South Ward on Wednesday night. 

According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 30 block of Clinton Place around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. 

When units arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering non-fatal bullet wounds at that location. 

The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, according to reports. 

Police are investigating if the Clinton place shooting is connected to at least two other shots-fired incidents that happened in the South Ward earlier in the week and the suspects finally connected on the victim. 

One of the shots fired incident occurred on Fabyan Place around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.  

The other shooting happened on Bragaw Avenue a short time earlier. 
 

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
