According to authorities, the robberies occurred at the Conoco Gas Station at 786 Sanford Avenue, Delta Gas Station at 900 Mt. Prospect Avenue and Millennium Gas Station at 864 Mt. Prospect Avenue.

Two additional gas stations, one in Orange and one in Belleville, were robbed by the four suspects, who wore masks, dark clothing and drove a silver Lexus with damage to the rear bumper and a Florida license plate.

Director Ambrose noted that several shooting incidents occurred overnight, one involving a fatality with other victims expected to be treated and released.

“We are also making progress on these investigations,” he said. “We, like many other cities throughout the state, have seen recent spikes in violence—particularly shooting incidents.”

Director Ambrose noted a drop in homicides and robberies around the city.
