Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray has announced that authorities are investigating a shooting in Orange, NJ earlier today, where a male was fatally wounded.
Authorities said at approximately 10:45 a.m., Orange police officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment building in the 400 block of Park Avenue.
Arriving officers located an unconscious and unresponsive male in the building’s parking lot. The victim, who has been identified as Jeffrey D. Miller, age 34, of Orange, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:18 a.m., according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly, of the Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit.
This incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Task Force.
