Authorities have released the identity of the 83-year-old Neptune woman killed Tuesday on the Garden State Parkway.
Police said the incident occurred on the northbound toll lanes at the Union toll plaza around 2:30 p.m.
According to preliminary investigations, Patricia Lavelle was killed after her Civic struck a concrete barrier between lanes 4 and 5.
The cause of the four-vehicle crash remains under investigation.
Officials said Lavelle has succumbed to her injuries while one other driver suffered minor injuries.
