Two Pedestrians Hospitalized After Being Struck by SUV in Linden

Authorities in Linden are investigating an auto-pedestrian crash that left two people injured Thursday evening.

According to police, the incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. on October 2, 2025, at the intersection of Ercama Street and West St. George Avenue.

 

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2020 Nissan SUV was traveling north when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto West St. George Avenue, striking two pedestrians in the crosswalk.
 

The victims, identified as a 47-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man, were treated at the scene by first responders before being transported to University Hospital in Newark. 

 

Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Police said the driver of the SUV was not injured. 

 

The crash remains under investigation.
