Teaneck Shooting Victim Transported by Private Vehicle to Paterson Hospital

An overnight shooting that happened in Teaneck had the victim transported by private vehicle to a Paterson hospital early this morning.

Police in Teaneck responded to reports of shots fired that rang out at a location in the north end of town at around 1:15 a.m. where officers arrived to the scene to find evidence of a shooting but no victim.

Officers reportedly began to canvass the area for a silver or light colored vehicle that was observed leaving the scene occupied by two black males according to reports.

Officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when a victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot injury entered the hospital's emergency department sometime around 2 a.m.

The victim told officers that he was shot by unknown assailants near a check cashing store on Broadway near White Castles restaurant.

Authorities later determined that the vicim was the Teaneck shooting victim.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
