State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with a Shooting Investigation on Interstate 80 in Paterson

The New Jersey State Police is investigating an incident where a vehicle was shot and struck on Interstate 80 in Paterson

Police say on Thursday, June 4, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Troopers from Troop “B” Totowa Station were dispatched to a report of a shooting in progress westbound on Interstate 80 in the area of milepost 58.7.

According to police, a 9-1-1 caller reported observing a passenger lean out of a silver Toyota, with temporary New Jersey license plates, and shoot at an unknown vehicle.

Police sad a short time later, troopers were contacted by members of the Elmwood Police Department regarding a victim who reported that his vehicle was allegedly shot and struck on Interstate 80.

During the ongoing investigation, detectives determined the victim’s vehicle was struck while traveling westbound on Interstate 80 between Paterson and Totowa.
