Police are on the scene of a shooting with at least one person down in the city at this time.
Gunfire rang out on Carteret Place and Central Avenue at around 9:15 p.m. sending several police units to the scene where they found a male victim shot multiple times in the torso and chest according to initial reports from the scene.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital suffering life threatening injuries.
There are reports of one other possible victim shot at that location. Their condition is unknown.
Police have a large crime scene established and an investigation underway.
