Search Warrants in Passaic, Bergen Counties Yield Two Arrests

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces the arrest of 27-year-old Christian Delossantos of Wood-Ridge, and 26-year-old Ricky Colon, Jr. of Passaic.

Their arrests are as a result of a six month investigation that concluded on June 26th when search warrants were executed at several locations within Passaic and Bergen Counties.

As a result of the search warrants, over 50 pounds of Marijuana along with 48 THC Cartridges, over $55,000.00 in United States currency, 2 Vehicles and 2 firearms were seized. THC is the active ingredient in marijuana.

Officials say Christian Delossantos was charged with Possession of Marijuana, in a quantity of 25 pounds or more, with Intent to Distribute, a crime of the First Degree, Possession of Hashish, in a quantity of 1 pound or more, with the Intent to Distribute, a crime of the Second Degree, 2 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of Public Property, a crime of the Second Degree, 2 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a crime of the Fourth Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Disorderly Persons Offense.

Authorities charged Ricky Colon with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, a crime Two Counts of Possession of a firearm While Committing a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense, a crime of the Second Degree, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of Public Property, a crime of the Second Degree,

Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of School Property, a crime of the Third Degree, Possession of Marijuana, in a quantity of less than 5 pounds, with Intent to Distribute, a crime of Third Degree, Possession of Marijuana, in a quantity of more than 50 grams, a crime of Fourth Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Disorderly Persons Offense.

The charges allege that after receiving large shipments of marijuana, both Christian Delossantos and Ricky Colon, Jr. would work together to weigh, package and prepare the marijuana for distribution to individuals and residential homes located within Passaic County.

Crimes of the First Degree carry a maximum term of 20 years in New Jersey State Prison. Crimes of the Second Degree carry a maximum of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison. Crimes of the Third Degree carry a maximum of 5 years in New Jersey State Prison and crimes of the Fourth Degree carry a maximum of 18 months imprisonment.
