POSSIBLE DOMESTIC DISPUTE LEAVES 65-YEAR-OLD MAN SHOT IN THE CHEST

A Scotch Plains man, was shot in the chest and is in unknown condition after what police believe was the result of a domestic dispute. Police responded to shots fired on the 1900 block of Church Avenue just after 11 AM this morning according to Scotch Plains Police Chief Brian T. Mahoney. The victim, a 65-year-old city man, was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to University Hospital in Newark, the chief said. The weapon has been recovered and the home has been secured said Mahoney. Chief Mahoney would not comment on if an arrest was made only to that the investigation was still active.
