Belleville Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in a section of the town Friday.
The late-night shooting happened around 11:27 p.m. in the 100 block of Bell Street.
Police responded to reports of suspicious activities and when they arrived, officers found a severely injured, unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive person suffering a bullet wound to their head.
The victim was administered CPR at the scene and authorities are looking into a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The extent of the victim's injuries was only reported as 'life-threatening.'
No other injuries were reported.
