Linden Police officials are investigating a pedestrian strike that left a person with life-threatening injuries in a section of the city Saturday night.
It happened near 1034 Hussa Street just before 8 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the unidentified victim entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle at that location.
Police said the victim was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, suffering several internal injuries.
Doctors listed the victim in grave condition while a Union County crash investigation team back at the scene looked into what caused the incident.
There were no other injuries reported.
