Severe injuries were reported for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle while crossing a highway in Union Township on Saturday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 8:17 p.m., police and EMS were called to the eastbound lanes of Route 2 to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police found the victim lying on the roadway after a vehicle struck them near the White Castles.
The injured were rushed to an area hospital for treatment and the extent of their injuries have not been confirmed as of early Sunday morning.
According to reports, the Union Township Police Department is handling the investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
