Police Departments in Orange and Newark are investigating reports of shootings that happened in their cities overnight.
There were no injuries reported after police in Orange responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Duane Street and Washington Street shortly before 8 p.m.
Arriving units located several shell casings at the scene, but no victims. A Hyundai Sonata occupied by two black males was observed leaving the area immediately after the shooting.
In Newark, police responded to reports of shots fired that ragout near a strip mall on Irvine Turner Boulevard near Avon Ave. at around 9:30 p.m. where officers arrived to the scene and conducted a search of the area. There were no victims found.
Both shootings are under investigation but are not reported to be connected.
