Police in Orange are investigating a set of shootings that reportedly rang out in the same neighborhood at different times that ultimately had at least one person hospitalized.
Officials form the University Hospital contacted authorities when a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the head entered the emergency department shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Authorities confirmed that the victim was involved in a shooting hat happened in the area of Snyder Street at Center Street.
Residents contacted police when gunfire rang out in the area, then a silver vehicle (identified as a BMW) sped away from the scene at around 11 a.m.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., another round of gunfire rang out in the same area according to residents.
A police vehicle was observed in the immediate vicinity for most of the day but it is not clear if the vehicle was occupied by an officer.
The victim's injuries were not reported to be life threatening.
This is the second person shot in Orange in about a 24-hour time span.
