Orange Shooting Victim Self-Transported to East Orange Hospital

An investigation is underway into a shooting that left a male victim seriously injured overnight. 

Police in Orange responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Central Place and Wilson Place at around 10:15 p.m. sent police to the scene where they found several shell casings but no victim. 

East Orange Hospital officials later informed authorities that the male victim checked into the hospital  short time later. 

Police are looking a black male with dreads that reportedly fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet  Monte Carlo shortly after the shooting. 

The condition of the victim is unknown as of this morning.
