Police in Neptune are investigating a shooting that left one person injured on Monday night.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue at approximately 10:15 p.m. sending police to the scene where they arrived to find an unidentified person suffering a gunshot wound at that location.
EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where doctors treated non-life threatening injuries according to police.
Neptune Police are leading the investigation into the motive for the shooting.
There were no other injuries reported.
