Morris Plains Friendly’s Hosts Back-to-School Food Drive for Local Food Bank

Morris Plains

In celebration of the “back to school” season, the Morris Plains Friendly’s will be hosting a food drive to benefit a local food bank this Fall. The Friendly’s location will be accepting donations between August 30, 2019 – September 30, 2019.

Community members can bring non-perishable food items to Friendly’s at 435 Speedwell Ave. throughout the month of September to be donated to the InterFaith Food Pantry. The InterFaith Food Pantry is a local nonprofit organization that provides access to food, nutrition education and related resources to residents of Morris County. In addition, it provides hands on opportunities for neighbors to help neighbors and educates the public about the issues of hunger in the Morris County community.

“We are excited to be kicking off ‘back to school’ season with an act of Friendly’sness,” said Fran Sperato, General Manager, Friendly’s. “At Friendly’s community and kindness are paramount and we are thrilled to be partnering with the Interfaith Food Pantry and the Morris Plains community on this month-long endeavor.”

Capping off the month-long food drive, the Morris Plains Friendly’s will be hosting a Family Fun Night on September 30th at which 20% of the total sales will be donated to the food pantry.
