There were severe injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred in Long Branch.
The overnight shooting happened before 2:15 a.m. in the 800 block of West Columbus Place where police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of shots fired.
According to preliminary reports, police and EMS arrived at the scene to find the adult male suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.
EMS transported the victim to Jersey Shore Medical Center where his condition was only reported as serious authorities said.
Police are looking into a motive for the shooting.
There were no arrests reported.
