Man Found Shot Multiple Times at Linden TGIF Restaurant

Linden

There is an active investigation into an overnight shooting that left a man seriously injured at a Linden restaurant.

Gunfire erupted at around 11:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the TGIF restaurant located in the 400 block of Park Avenue -near Route 1- sending a large contingent of police and emergency responders to the scene where they found a male victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.

Police established a massive crime scene around the parking lot where they focused their attention on a car that was riddled with more than a dozen bullets.

While police searched the area for a possible shooter, EMS rushed the victim to the hospital in serious condition.

The overnight shooting at TGIF makes it the second incident where gunfire rang out in or around a restaurant on a Route 1 corridor in NJ in about 12 days.

On Tuesday, November 14th, Mr. Devin Smith, 23, of Lawrence, was seated at the bar at Applebee’s when he was shot in the head by an assailant at approximately 12:25 a.m.

Authorities said on Sunday, November 19th, police arrested a Lawrence Township man wanted for an execution-style shooting at the Applebee’s restaurant just outside the Quakerbridge Mall.

According to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Noel Powell III, 27, was taken into custody at about 2:30 p.m. and charged with Smith's murder.

The Linden shooting remains under investigation.
