A city official and an Edison man were arrested last month after the men allegedly used a 'cookie' to drug a city woman at Amici's in Linden.
On February 21, the 49-year-old Linden woman - acquaintance of the men - was at the bar at Amici's Ristorante with the men when one of them offered her what he claimed was a ' vodka cookie'.
After leaving the bar, the woman claimed feeling disoriented and ill. Upon getting to her residence, she was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway by a family member. The woman underwent several tests, where one came up positive for marijuana.
At this point, an investigation was initiated leading to arrest warrants for Anthony Coplan, 51, of Linden, and Carlo Santorella, 42, of Edison.
Coplan and Santorella were charged with reckless endangerment, a fourth-degree crime.
Both men were released on summonses.
