Late Night Gunfire Injures Two in Orange

There is an active investigation underway into an Orange shooting that sent two people to the hospital overnight.

Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Oakwood Place at around 9 p.m. where units arrived to the scene to find a male victim suffering a gunshot injury at that location according to reports.

The victim was transported to University Hospital where his injury was not reported to be life threatening.

A short time later, officials at University Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department suffering non-life threatening gunshot injuries to the back and leg according to officials.

The victim reported to authorities that he was driven to the hospital by private vehicle after he was struck by gunfire on Oakwood Place.

Police are looking for a dark colored vehicle that was occupied by a Hispanic or white male and a black male suspect that pulled up to the location and began to shoot in the area.

The pair reportedly fired off more than a dozen rounds.

It is not immediately clear if the victims were the targets of the shooting at this time.

The Orange Police Department is handling the investigation.
