A late-night fire involving a camper behind a Bloomfield residence left one person injured and prompted a swift multi-agency emergency response.

According to information released by Bloomfield Fire Chief Lou Venezia, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 11:06 p.m. to reports of a mobile home fire in the driveway area behind 86 Parkway West.
Upon arrival, crews encountered a heavily involved camper, with flames already extending toward a nearby garage, creating an immediate risk of further property damage.
Firefighters quickly deployed two hose lines, one directed into the garage to prevent the fire from spreading, and another focused on the camper to bring the main body of flames under control.
Officials said the fire was successfully contained in about 10 minutes.
Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Belleville and Nutley fire departments.

One individual who suffered burn injuries was transported by Glen Ridge EMS to Saint Barnabas Medical Center for treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
