The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting incident that injured a male in Prospect Park Monday morning.
Officials at St. Joseph's Hospital on the campus of William Paterson University notified Wayne Police when a male victim was dropped off by a private vehicle suffering gunshot wounds.
Police arrived at the medical center and were told by the victim that someone shot him near the intersection of Haledon Avenue and North 9th Street around 3 a.m.
Police did locate a crime scene and secured the vehicle that transported the victim to the hospital.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been reported.
