The Orange Police Department has launched an investigation into a shooting that occurred in a residential community in the city last night.
After over a nine month "dry spell" from shootings on Taylor Street, residents on the small block has once again faced a sad reality after a light colored vehicle, carrying several occupants, drove through the 100 block of the street and continuously fired gunshot rounds according to reports.
Fast responding police taped off the area and began a search for victims that ultimately came back negative for injuries.
A crime scene established had police mark off about a dozen shell casings with a house struck multiple times.
According to public records, there have been no homicides in the city in 2017.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
