EMS rushed a male victim to University Hospital in Newark suffering injury from gunfire a short time ago.
Several rounds of gunfire rang out in the 200 block of High Street shortly before noon sending police to the scene where they found a male victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
Police setup a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence and a possible suspect.
Residents on the block said the incident possibly carried over from a reported shooting that happened in the neighborhood last night.
Police are investigating.
