Police officials in Linden are reporting no injuries in a shots-fired incident in a section of the city during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of gunfire that rang out near the intersection of Lincoln Street and East St. Georges Avenue before 1:30 a.m.
Police officers arrived at the scene ad taped off a stretch of Lincoln Street from East St. Georges Avenue just past the Jumping Bunnies Daycare Center located near Middlesex Street.
According to reports, officers found multiple shell casings, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
Officials have not confirmed if recent shootings and a spate of **[violence that caused at least two fatalities](https://www.rlsmedia.com/nj/linden)** in the city are related at this time.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
