Four Men Arrested After Brawl, Shooting Outside Linden Go-Go Bar

Linden New Jersey

Linden police arrested four men after a brawl turned shooting outside a Linden bar.

Police responded to Cheeque’s Lounge, located at 1230 E. Linden Avenue, after a fight erupted between two groups of men who were leaving at approximately 2:52 a.m. Saturday, Captain James Sarnicki said.

An officer patrolling the area heard and saw gunshots being exchanged between the two groups, added the captain.

A silver Hyundai observed leaving the scene was stopped by police and the occupants were later arrested for being a part of the altercation.

A 9 mm handgun was recovered nearby, in the grass, after it was apparently thrown from the vehicle.

Several patrons were treated for injuries sustained in the fight by the Linden Fire Department ambulance.

It did not appear anyone was injured by the gunfire, said Sarnicki.

One victim told officers, that during the fight, one of two men ran to the Hyundai to retrieved a gun and began firing into the crowd. Someone in the other group then pulled out a gun and began firing back.

Investigating officers are reviewed video footage from the bar and parking lot as part of their investigation.

Detectives also recovered a second handgun, a .380 caliber, added Sarnicki.

The men arrested were identified as Sidney H. Williams, III, 23, of New Brunswick, and Kevin M. Greenleaf, 23, of North Brunswick.

Both were charged with aggravated assault and weapons violations.

Greenleaf also had contempt warrants out of New Brunswick, North Brunswick, Bridgewater, and Elizabeth.

Also arrested were Rajon L. McMillian, 23, of North Brunswick for possession of marijuana, and Kashawn J. Hicks, 23, of New Brunswick, for possession of ten folds of heroin.

Williams and Greenleaf were being held on bails of $200,000 and $202,500, respectively, pending an initial court appearance of April 27th.

McMillian and Hicks were released on summonses.
