Firefighters Injured in Three-Alarm House Fire in Scotch Plains

A raging three-alarm fire that broke out inside house in Scotch Plains sent two firefighters to the hospital this afternoon.

Firefighters responded to heavy fire that ripped through the roof of a single family house located at 2028 Dogwood Drive shortly before 2 p.m.

Crews battled heavy smoke and flames that engulfed the large single family home where a search of the structure had no injured or trapped occupants.

Two firefighters were transported to St. Barnabus Medical Center suffering non-life threatening injuries according to reports.

Fiefighters were temporarily hampered by water pressure issues.

Clark and Mountainside were among several fire companies that provided mutual assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
