Early Morning NJ Shooting Leaves Victim Seriously Injured on Basketball Court

Authorities in Camden are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred on Sunday, leaving one person seriously injured.

The incident happened at approximately 4:50 a.m. near the intersection of North 6th Street and Elm Street.

Police were dispatched to the scene in response to reports of shots fired in the area. Upon their arrival, officers discovered an unidentified victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

The shooting had taken place on the basketball court in the vicinity.

Emergency responders quickly attended to the victim, who was then rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical treatment.

As of 5 a.m., no arrests have been reported, and the motive behind the shooting remains under an active and ongoing investigation.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office has been notified of the incident and is expected to assist in the investigation.
