Police are on the scene of a shooting with one person down at this time in the city.
Gunfire rang out in the area of North Center Street at New Street shortly before 3:05 p.m. sending officers to the scene where they located the victim struck by gunfire.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark in an unknown condition.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
There are no arrests reported at this time.
UPDATE 3:40 p.m. Non-life threatening injuries reported. Crime scene also established 100 block North Day.
