EMS transported a teen boy to University Hospital in Newark after the juvenile was struck by a vehicle in Belleville on Monday evening.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the area of 726 Washington Avenue to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police found the boy in front of ShopRite suffering non-fatal injuries after a car struck him at that location.
Police say the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
The incident is under investigation by Belleville Police.
No other injuries were reported.
