In the early hours of the morning Friday, Linden Police and the Detective Bureau rushed to the scene of a shooting at Maximum Quality Foods, located at 3351 Tremley Point Road.
The incident reported just before 6:00 a.m., prompted several calls to Linden Central Dispatch from concerned citizens.
Police said a single victim, found to have been shot multiple times, was swiftly transported to Newark University Hospital, where they are currently listed in critical condition.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect responsible for the attack fled the scene before police could arrive.
The Linden Police Detective Bureau is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
As of now, details about the motive or the identity of the assailant remain unclear.
The local community and law enforcement are on high alert as the search for the suspect continues.
