A Newark man Gunned down on an Orange Street this afternoon is fighting for his life in a hospital this evening.
Details are developing, but according to preliminary reports, the shooting happened just before 1:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Oakwood Place where police responded to several reports of shots fired.
Units arriving at the scene found the victim struck to the chest by gunfire.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
A male suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot and may be known to the victim reports said.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
