Bomb Threats Under Investigation at Two Ocean County Hospitals

Authorities in Ocean County announced that law enforcement was notified today of bomb threats made to Community Medical Center in Toms River and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer stated that both hospitals were placed on lockdown, and sweeps of both facilities were conducted by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit with negative results.

The hospitals were subsequently reopened.

The threats are currently under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Arson Squad, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Homeland Security Squad, Lakewood Township Police Department, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.
