Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect Wanted for Newark Shooting

A warrant has been issued for Aquil Baldwin, 24, in connection with an Aggravated Assault shooting on August 7, 2016 in the area of 111 Georgia King Village.

According to authorities, at approximately 7 p.m., Newark Police responded to a shots fired call in the area of Georgia King Village.

The officers were notified that a shooting victim had walked into Rutgers University Medical Center and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

After an intense investigation, detectives developed evidence that Aquil Baldwin is a suspect in this shooting. Bail for Baldwin has been set at $100,000.00.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
