Authorities in Elizabeth are investigating a shooting in the city's ports section that happened late last night.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 300 block of Fulton Street shortly before 10 p.m. where officers began their search for victims and possible suspects.
Initial reports from the scene had one person transported to the hospital suffering an apparent gunshot injury.
The extent of the victim's condition is unknown as of early 5:15 a.m.
The incident is being handled by the Elizabeth Police Department at this time.
