Separate reports of shootings that happened in the city overnight has police investigating.
Reports of shots fired reportedly called in by a female in the 20's block of Foster Street placed several units at the scene at around 9:50 p.m.
Units arrived to locate the victim who reported to them that a male suspect fired a shot in the area shortly before they arrived.
A search of the area had authorities locate at least one shell casing, but no injuries were immediately reported.
At around 5:30 a.m. police responded to reports of shots fired in the 800 block of South 14th Street where officers arrived to find evidence of a shooting but no victim was reportedly located.
Newark Police are investigating both incidents.
