A judge in Newark sentenced an Irvington man to 10 years in prison for shooting his ex-wife twice at her home back in 2014.
She was happy to see her ex-husband, Anthony Konah, be sentenced to 10 years in state prison for shooting her twice in 2014 during an altercation at her Newark apartment building.
As part of a plea deal, that Anthony Konah, 56, accepted on Jan. 26, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the Oct. shooting.
Konah must serve eight and a half years before becoming eligible for parole court documents said.
According to authorities, the shooting happened just outside Belinda Konah's apartment building in the 500 block of Central Avenue in Newark.
Konah confronted his wife there when a verbal confrontation escalated.
Ok an reportedly returned to his vehicle and drove off, only returning to shoot his ex-wife two times, once in the shoulder and once in the leg authorities said.
Konah was arrested on Oct. 28, 2014 and later sent to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
He was released from custody on Feb. 5, 2015 after posting $60,000 bail, according to court records.
