There is an investigation underway into a shooting that had a male victim suffering a gunshot wound who arrived at a Newark hospital overnight.
Officials at the Beth Israel Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency room suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg at around 4:15 a.m.
The victim reported to authorities that he suffered the gunshot injury in the 500 block of Central Avenue shortly before arriving to the hospital.
Police searched the area for a possible crime scene but it is not immediately clear if any evidence was located.
