There is an active search for several suspects that committed a shooting in the city's South Ward overnight.
The suspects reportedly occupied a dark colored two-door vehicle (possibly and Acura) when they unloaded several rounds of gunfire in the 600 block of Bergen Street striking and wounding a male victim at that location according to reports.
EMS rushed to the scene where they located the vicim suffering gunshot wounds to the upper legs. The victim was transported to University Hospital where he was reported to survive his injuries.
There has been no report of arrests as of 4:30 a.m.
The Newark Police Department are handling the investigation.
